Longhill Pet Boarding is owned by Diane and Michael O’Donnell, a husband and wife team who have been involved for many years in the animal field.Diane O’Donnell is a New Jersey Certified Animal Control Officer. She also serves as the Association Director of People for Animals, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic and rescue in Hillside, NJ. She is trained in animal behavior, and continues to attend conferences to keep up to date on important companion animal issues. Additionally, Diane has worked and volunteered in several shelters and has been especially involved with promoting spay/neuter in low income areas where the need is greatest and the resources scarce.
During Hurricane Katrina, Diane traveled with several other members of a group to the gulf coast to help with rescue efforts and after a week of helping out at the temporary shelter at Lamar Dixon, brought 14 dogs and 9 cats back – all of whom have either been reunited with their owners or adopted into new loving families.
Diane has also served on the Board and as the Treasurer of the Animal Welfare Federation of NJ – an organization that works to unite animal welfare professionals throughout the state along with education and promotion of animal welfare issues of all kinds. She is certified in Pet CPR and First Aid.
Michael O’Donnell was involved with fostering seeing eye puppies for many years, and is as much of an animal lover as anyone could be! Together, the O’Donnells have been responsible for the fostering and adoption of literally hundreds of dogs and cats.
The O’Donnells live on the premises and enjoy spending their days with the dogs and cats staying at their countryside kennel.
